The Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) primarily serves the Federal Acquisition Workforce. We house our training materials in our FAI CSOD learning management system. However, we do have a webpage that offers additional training available to the general public and contractors, including a course titled 'The Customer’s Role on the Acquisition Team,' along with several other training courses. For federal government contractors specifically, there are several targeted training providers and resources, including:
1. GSA Interact
GSA Interact is an online community that provides contractors with access to various resources, including training materials, best practices, and the latest updates on federal contracting. It features interactive forums where users can learn about the GSA acquisition process and proposal evaluations. These training programs and resources are designed to help contractors effectively engage with the federal government and navigate the complexities of the acquisition lifecycle.
2. U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Training Resources for Vendors
This page is designed for vendors looking to sell products and services to the federal government and provides access to various training opportunities. Vendors can explore a wide range of courses, including workshops, meetings, conferences, and seminars, offered both online and at locations across the country.
3. The Small Business Administration (SBA) Learning Platform
SBA offers online training programs, and development and growth opportunities designed to empower and educate small business owners.
4. Defense Acquisition University
This link provides student eligibility to enroll in DAU courses. Non-DoD federal agency employees and Defense Industry employees (contractors) are eligible to enroll in DAU courses. While there is no cost to attend DAU instructor-led (ILT) or virtual instructor-led (VILT) courses, non-DoD and industry participants can enroll on a space-available basis. Some classes may have designated quotas for non-DoD and Defense Industry participants, but these quotas are not guaranteed for every course or location. It is important to note that Department of Defense (DoD) and military department (MILDEP) personnel have priority enrollment over non-DoD federal employees and contractors, except in cases where specific quotas are set aside for non-DoD and industry participants.
5. National Contract Management Association (NCMA)
NCMA offers certification programs, courses, and webinars specifically tailored to government contractors. Their focus includes understanding the federal acquisition lifecycle, proposal writing, and evaluation processes.
6. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance (OFCCP)
Within this site, contractors can access opportunities to develop skills that ensure their organization’s compliance with the obligations and requirements outlined in federal contracts and subcontracts.
7. Department of Energy’s Contractor Acquisition University
The DOE's National Training Center (NTC) and the Supply Chain Management Center (SCMC) have partnered to establish the Contractor Acquisition University (CAU), a training program specifically designed to address the unique needs of DOE's acquisition community. CAU provides standardized procurement training in various formats, including eLearning, virtual, and instructor-led sessions. Tailored for the DOE contractor community, CAU courses are taught by experienced DOE acquisition professionals. Through this training, participants gain DOE-specific knowledge and skills that are not typically available in the private sector.
8. Federal Energy Management Program Training
The Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) provides live and on-demand training to foster and maintain a high-performance workforce that constructs, operates, and maintains energy-efficient and cost-effective federal facilities.
